It is my great joy and privilege to write my living testimony.
Hoping and praying it will bring glory
to Almighty God.
I am Dr. Grace Samuel Jena (DGS) from Odisha, Ganapati. I
was born and brought up as a traditional Hindu believer
who lived in worldly pleasure and wickedness. In 1999
when I was a young boy, a Christian missionary came to
visit my father for the purpose of sharing the Good News
of Jesus Christ, and he gave me a small booklet. It was
written in Diya language with scriptures about John. 3:16
and Act. 9:15-16.
Since I was such a young boy at that time, I was not
concerned about the booklet the man had given me.
However, time passed and I became a young man.
After my secular studies were completed I got a good job,
but my life was not in harmony. There was no peace in my
life and I was spending time with wicked friends. Day by
day my life became worse and worse. It was then in 2008
that a great persecution took place in my village and the
RSS Hindu community brutally attacked the Christians all
over Odisha. They killed many Christians and many
children became orphaned and many women became
widows because so many servants of God were martyred.
Hindus destroyed all our houses and villages. Then one
day I heard a man of God was preaching about the very
same verses from the booklet I had received when I was
that small boy. His message really touched my heart and
changed my view about how to know who God is and what
He can do for me.
That day I realized my condition and repented of my sins,
accepting Jesus as my personal savior. I thank my Savior
Jesus for showing me His unconditional love, saving me
from the bondage of sin, and giving me eternal salvation.
Since then I have committed my life to serve Him.
Soon after that I made the decision to know more about
God’s word so I went to Bible College for the equipping
and preparing of myself for the Lord’s ministry.
By the grace of God I completed my B.A. and a B. Theology,
and my M. Divinity. To this day I am serving Him faithfully.
I may be poor but I am proud of my being one chosen to
serve God. And I am ready to serve Him by creating a
better future for the many orphans, the mentally ill, the
widows, and the youth of India.
I have a vision and a passionate desire that God will open
the doors for my ministry to start a fully funded bible
school and a training center for local people joining the
ranks of those becoming dedicated to God. I am also
praying for some help/support for the 20 missionaries
who are already my coworkers.
God is our strength. Let us work for Him faithfully through
giving hope to the needy regardless of our situations
whether poor or rich.
